
Rice on milk is a food most commonly associated with childhood in Croatia, and is usually consumed at breakfast. Since we spend more time in our homes these days, rice on milk is not necessarily just breakfast, but also a dessert for everyone at any time of the day. In the classic version, rice is cooked in plain milk, but today I bring you a recipe for coconut milk rice. What you need and the preparation method you can read below:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rice
- 5 dcl of coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 vanilla sugar
- salt
- cinnamon
- dried fruit
Preparation:
- Pour the milk into the pot, add the rice and season with salt.
- Let it boil then reduce the temperature and cook for 20 minutes with occasional stirring (until the rice is cooked).
- Add sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon at the very end. Serve it plain or with dried fruit as desired.

Omg! This is a flashback. My cousin and I use to eat rice cereal, which is similar to this! We would use milk, cooked rice, sugar, and some fruit. It was so good! This recipe looks great.

When I was little mom used to make something which sounds familiar to this. She called it rice pudding. It was delicious, but didn’t have dried fruit. Awww memories! Sounds so delicious and heartwarming. 😁🏝
