In a place where lies reign, hidden under the guise of hypocrisy, honesty never finds understanding. In such a world, honest conversation is considered a crime and you have to be extremely brave to throw off your armor, open your heart, tell the truth.
But with lies, there is one worse, darker, and more insidious dimension – hypocrisy. The dimension in which a person hides his true “I” by exposing himself to others as a highly moral person.
We justify hypocrisy without even realizing it
From childhood, adults teach us that telling the truth is good, and deception is bad. They guide us on a life path where sooner or later knives will surely appear.
As psychologist Lawrence Kohlberg explains in his theory of moral development, it all happens on a conventional level (the second stage of moral development), when a child between the ages of 10 and 13 begins to understand the meaning of justice.
In addition, he sees adults confused in their own contradictions. Parents demand honesty from their children, although they themselves are often offended by the truth they hear. Then we find ourselves in one of those situations when we wonder which is better: to hurt someone’s feelings with our sincerity or to lie from a safe distance.
Hypocrisy rules the world and with its help, false lives are built
Hypocrisy has infiltrated our society, gaining the status of something absolutely normal. But what is interesting is that most people have a sensitive “sensor” for hypocrisy.
We are often in a situation where we notice the hypocrisy in politicians, relatives, colleagues at work… But we do not respond to that. We demoralize ourselves with the thought that we cannot win the fight against hypocrisy.
Trying to change a dishonest person who isn’t even honest with himself is hard work.
How to defeat a lie? Always be honest and realistic!
There are different types of hypocrisy. So there are people who demonstrate magnificent manners just to hide their negative moral principles: racism, sexism, prejudice…
But the most common type of hypocrisy is a man’s desire to be accepted and get recognition. Those people who constantly resort to hypocrisy endanger their self-esteem.
How to deal with a hypocritical man

In order not to forget who you really are, always try to maintain an internal dialogue with yourself. Remember your value and size. Your life is in no way dependent on the words or actions of a hypocrite.
Think of them as bad air, which will sooner or later simply evaporate.
