Fear of happiness or fear of failure?

We should be afraid of not living life to the fullest because we are not brave enough to say no to ourselves. Very often we encourage ourselves with false and bad words, instead of sometimes being a little more critical of ourselves and pushing ourselves into the unknown.

Is there really a fear of happiness, or is it just a poorly camouflaged fear that you are not up to the task?

We all strive for the complete fulfillment of ourselves as individuals, we all strive for happiness and quality of life. How, then, can some of us justify our inaction by fear of happiness?

The fear of happiness is the fear of failure
It is not the fear of happiness, but the fear of failure. Fear that they will not have enough knowledge, energy, will, and ability to overcome all obstacles and reach the final destination. The fear is that they will give up again because they probably did not complete any of the missions they had planned but gave up halfway because of the same fear.

And then how to overcome fear, convince yourself that they deserve happiness and that they can reach the goal? So one day they will have to play the game to the end, any game or challenge they embark on. Only when they have completed the entire route, all possible obstacles, and are running out of energy if they reach the end will they realize that they were afraid of themselves. And that nothing but them stopped them.

When they realize that even if they lose the battle, they have not lost the war, they will overcome future obstacles and challenges much easier. Fear will be replaced by happiness and curiosity. Curiosity for which they will invent new obstacles, just to see if they can overcome them too. Once they set out on that journey, they will not return to old patterns of behavior.

We are constantly changing anyway

Because happiness is not something we should be afraid of. We should not be afraid that everything we want will change us. Because it can’t if we know who we are and we know why we want something. Each day we will then see it as a unique opportunity to shine the strongest, to leave a mark, and push our boundaries. And even if we stray astray, we will know how to return because we will always have in our subconscious the reason why we dared to go on the road.

We should be afraid of not living life to the fullest because we are not brave enough to say no to ourselves. Very often we encourage ourselves with false and bad words, instead of sometimes being a little more critical of ourselves and pushing ourselves into the unknown.

We put off most of what makes us uncomfortable, instead of throwing ourselves into the fire and learning.

We procrastinate because we think there is time to learn and find some other way to reach the goal. We should be afraid that we will not add colors, smells, days, and flavors to our lives. That we will sink into a routine, and allow ourselves to be exhausted by everyday life to the point of emptying ourselves completely.

What are you waiting for to happen to yourself?

That fear should be much greater than the fear of failure . You are alive once, now, and never again under this sky, you have as many chances as you want, you just have to learn to act in your favor.

What are you waiting for to happen to yourself, what are you waiting for to say no to fear and start taking small steps? Remember, just small steps are enough, every day, to get far in a year or two and get closer to the goal. Almost imperceptibly, you will be focused on the good, forget the bad that can happen along the way, and you will get where you want to be.

Don’t let fear stop you in your intention to be the best version of yourself, don’t let yourself create insurmountable boundaries for yourself when you have complete power to break down all boundaries and create your dreams.

And when you think that you are not up to the task, you stop, take the time to rest, and understand at what point it went astray, so that you can find a solution calmly and consciously. And you will slowly, day by day, reach your goal, correct where you have gone wrong along the way, and draw some new paths.

And promise yourself you won’t give up. And that you will love yourself when it is hardest, and in every cloud and raindrop you will find the beautiful thing you will hold on to until the storm passes.

  1. It’s important to not allow fear to stop you from enjoying everyday life. Making steps toward things you want to do will require faith and accepting change. Learning from your mistakes keeps you growing and knowing how to pause, breath, accepting things takes strength and wisdom. Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed reading. ☺️

  2. So many great points to take from this and one of them was this one: “Don’t let fear stop you in your intention to be the best version of yourself…” I struggled with this for many years, until I told myself that the real failure is not to try new things. And that’s what you reminded me of with your great article. Such a lovely and empowering read. If we know who we are and can trust in that, we can understand that not living the life we should and want, then that’s a real failure.
    Thank you!

  3. Thank you for this post, Marta. I’m going through some life changes right now that require me to act. There’s still a chance that, despite my efforts, we will not succeed, but that’s just a possibility. It is a CERTAINTY that we will fail if I don’t do something. I know that I’m one to hesitate when I’m carrying the weight. Despite a record of success, I go through phases of fear, doubt and anxiety before pushing through it to the other side. This post is well-timed in my life because that’s where I am right now. I just spent a week, waiting, thinking and this is the week to act. I appreciate the nudge and reminder that I can do it.
